Josh Creamer was Victorious Again at Spring Creek AMA ATV Motocross Championship
Robert Boop
Round 6 of the AMA ATV Motocross Championship was another successful weekend of racing for Yoshimura-powered racers at Spring Creek in Millville, Minnesota. Josh Creamer took home his fourth win of the season in convincing fashion with 1-1 moto finishes, and is now leading the series points by 15.

“It’s a great feeling leading, but I gotta keep my head on straight and not get overly confident because we still have a lot of racing left,” Creamer said after the race. With two holeshots, two wins, and the overall, Creamer was unstoppable on Sunday at the Spring Creek track. He and teammate Dustin Wimmer set the pace in qualifying, with Wimmer grabbing the top spot and Creamer in a close second. With their choice of gates, the Yoshimura racers were ready to race on the technical and rutted track.

Creamer and his Yoshimura-powered Suzuki QuadRacer R450 had all the power he needed to not only get out front, but to also stretch a gap between him and the rest of the racers on the track. Creamer easily grabbed the holeshot and checked out in both motos. “The power of the Yosh engine was great, and there was plenty of traction because they got a lot of rain this week before the race,” Creamer said. “We pretty much nailed everything we tried as far as setup goes. It’s a good feeling to win and we’re just going to hold on and keep racing from here on out.” Creamer has now won four motos in a row and six total. He’s been on the podium at every round so far in 2010 and shows no signs of letting up.

Creamer’s teammate and two-time defending AMA ATV Motocross champion Dustin Wimmer also secured two good starts, getting to the first turn in the top 5 in both races. In Moto 1, Wimmer was in fifth for most of the race, but powered his way past competitors to put himself and his Yoshimura-tuned Suzuki on the podium in third place on the final laps of the race. In Moto 2, Wimmer earned a hard-fought fourth place and ended the day in fourth place overall. He is currently second in points and has been consistent aboard his quad all year. While he just missed out on the podium for the overall, expect to see the back-to-back Champion in the fray at Muddy Creek next weekend in Tennessee.

Pat Brown took his Yoshimura-powered Honda 450R to seventh-place finishes in both motos and finished the day in sixth overall. Brown has been in the top 10 for most of the season, thanks to the power that Yoshimura R&D of America found inside the Honda’s engine. “The bike ran well, and it was really fast and I almost got the holeshots in both motos,” Pat said after the race. “My Yoshimura engine got me two great starts, and now I just have to finish up front. I’m going to prepare this week for Muddy Creek and train in the heat, and look forward to better finishes in Tennessee.”
